Learning about poets and their styles

Fourth class are learning about different poets and their styles. For the last week we have been listening to poems by Jack Prelutsky from his book The New Kid on the Block.
The pupils decided to write their own version of Jack Prelutsky's poem; Louder Than a Clap of Thunder.
Louder
Louder than my parrot talking
Louder than my class screaming
Louder than Dean
Louder than Mr. Candon roars
Louder than my six cousins
Louder than Dylan's guitar
Louder than a lions roar
Louder than elephants
or stampeding rhinos
Louder than a marching band
Louder than an erupting volcano
THAT'S HOW LOUD MY GRAND DA ROARS
By Killian
Louder Than
Louder than thunder and lightening
Louder than an earthquake rumbling
Louder than my sister falling
Louder than the world shaking
Louder than a lion roaring
Louder than a house on fire
Louder than a window smashing
Louder than a teacher roaring
Louder than a wall falling
Louder than a man screaming
THAT'S HOW LOUD MY MA SCREAMS
by Leroy
Louder Than
Louder than a crocodile eating
Louder than a man screaming
Louder than a dinosaur roaring
Louder than a lion moaning
Louder than a crocodile eating
Louder than a baby crying
Louder than Dylan and Jake moaning
THAT'S HOW LOUD MR. CANDON ROARS
by Dylan G.
